John and Martha Peterson opened Precision Auto Body & Painting in 1987. In the beginning, it was just the two of them—John did the repairs and Martha handled the paperwork. In their first month they repaired 5 cars. Today, Precision Auto Body is the premier collision repair facility in Santa Barbara County, with over 30 employees at 3 repair centers. We’ve come a long way, but our mission is the same: to provide world class service and the highest quality of repairs.

Precision Auto Body is still family owned and operated. And from the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll feel like you’re part of our family. Being in an accident can be stressful, but the repairs don’t have to be. Our helpful staff can guide you through the entire process, including towing, car rentals, and working with your insurance company. We also offer a free shuttle service and free pickup and delivery of your vehicle.

Manufacturer Certified Repairs

Precision Auto Body and Painting is the only repair facility in Santa Barbara County to be certified by Tesla, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz USA, and BMW of North America. Our technicians have been factory-trained to meet the highest standards of repair practices that these manufacturers require. They attend continuing education courses with these manufacturers to ensure that they are up-to-date on the latest repair procedures.

We are the preferred body shop for Santa Barbara Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, and Range Rover and Lexus. Additionally, our technicians are I-CAR Platinum certified, the highest individual recognition for collision repair technicians.
